Not many potential presidential candidates can swing a few minutes of prime-time air to speak directly to the American public, but Senator Barack Obama did just before the start of the Monday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Rams on ESPN.

Looking as if he was sitting on the set of “The West Wing,” Senator Obama spoke deadpan to the camera about wanting to put “all the doubts to rest.”

“Tonight, after a lot of thought and a good deal of soul-searching, I would like to announce to my hometown of Chicago and all of America that I am ready… for the Bears to go all the way, baby.”
